ASD Continues to Rank in Upper Categories for Making Solar Power More Accessible to Homeowners

American Solar Direct (ASD), a leading residential solar energy provider in California, increased its ranking 10 spots from 2013 to 2014 according to an annual survey conducted by Solar Power World Magazine, one of the solar industry’s leading sources for technology, development and installation news.

ASD’s improved standing to No. 71 among the industry’s top 400 solar companies in the U.S. and Canada is reflective of ASD’s continued goal of making affordable, renewable power more accessible to homeowners. ASD ranked No. 81 out of 250 solar companies in 2013.

In addition to ASD’s improved ranking among companies across utility, commercial, residential and off-grid categories, ASD shined even brighter in specialized categories including the rooftop contractor category where ASD ranked No. 8 out of 100 solar companies.

Featuring 400 of the industry’s most successful solar installation and development companies across the U.S. and Canada, Solar Power World Magazine ranks applicants according to their influence in the solar market as determined by the total number of megawatts each company installed in 2013. This year, Solar Power World expanded the list by 150 companies over last year’s 250 companies, reflecting the overall expansion of the solar industry in general. This is the third iteration of the Top Solar Contractors list, which began in 2012.

“We’re very proud of our performance and demonstrated growth over the past year,” stated American Solar Direct CEO Brennan Mulcahy. “Being recognized among the top 20 percent of solar contractors in the U.S. and Canada by Solar Power World is an honor and solidifies ASD’s position within this extremely competitive industry. I thank the team at ASD and our customers who continue to make our progress possible.”

“America’s solar industry is currently on pace to achieve another record-shattering year,” says Rhone Resch, President and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), a supporter of the Top 400 Solar Contractors List. “This simply wouldn’t be possible without the effort, hard work and creativity of these Top 400 Solar Contractors.”
