Winter Park Construction, one of the nation's most respected general contractors and leading construction companies, has been selected by Crescent Communities to build Crescent Central Station, a luxury urban infill, mid-rise/mixed-use development in downtown Orlando, Fla. Designed by architects Lord, Aeck & Sargent (LAS), this $39 million, 279-unit, six-story building is scheduled to begin preleasing in fall of 2014.
A unique development both locally and nationally, Crescent Central Station will be built just blocks from the center of Downtown Orlando on Orange Avenue between Amelia Street and Livingston Street. Crescent Central Station will be Downtown Orlando's first truly transit oriented development. By way of a linear park and pedestrian plaza, the development will provide pedestrian connectivity to LYNX and SunRail, Orlando's highly anticipated commuter rail service. Crescent Central Station will break ground this month and will be the first phase of an overall master plan spanning an entire city block. Future phases will include a hotel, and office buildings.
Crescent Central Station is a complex building type with five stories of wood-framed multifamily units over a double-height concrete podium and approximately 12,000 square feet of ground level retail. Additionally, the apartment units will wrap a seven-story, pre-cast concrete parking garage. This mid-rise community will feature studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans, as well as two-story brownstone-style townhomes. Amenities will include a terrace-level sun deck, courtyard pool, lounge space, fitness center, a pet grooming salon and bike repair shop.
