BASF will sponsor an educational event for builders and the design community at the Portland Art Museum on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, beginning at 9 a.m.
Industry experts will discuss affordable solutions for sustainable home construction, best practices for marketing high-performance homes, and information on incentives available through local energy efficiency programs. BASF experts will discuss material selection and performance. The event is free, but space is limited. To register, click here .
“Portland is a leader when it comes to sustainable construction,” said Rick Davenport, Director, Sustainable Construction for BASF in North America. “BASF is looking forward to sharing ideas to help Portland’s builders take sustainable construction to the next level, and do it affordably.”
Among the featured presenters are:
- Renowned building scientist Joe Lstiburek, who will share innovations in high-performance building systems;
- Suzanne Shelton, President and CEO of Shelton Group, a leading marketing communications agency focused on the sustainability and energy efficiency sectors, who will share consumer perceptions around sustainable homes and how to best market them; and,
- Scott Leonard of Energy Trust of Oregon’s New Homes and Products program, who will present energy efficiency programs and initiatives.
In addition, experts from the BASF Center for Building Excellence will offer guidance on materials and chemistry to assist the building community in using applied building science techniques.
