Heat & Glo announced that T&M Building Company recently won the Connecticut Home Builders Association’s Home Building Industry Award (HOBI) for best indoor/outdoor feature. Key to winning the award was T&M Building’s creative use of the Heat & Glo Twilight II indoor/outdoor gas fireplace in a model home.
T&M Building chose the Twilight II to demonstrate the benefits of using one fireplace to enjoy a warm, clean-burning fire from the inside and outside of the home simultaneously, any time of the year. Instead of having to invest in two separate fireplaces, the Twilight II enables T&M Building to install a single direct gas vent unit which simultaneously functions as an outdoor and indoor fireplace
.
“We are honored to win the HOBI award for best indoor/outdoor feature,” says Steve Temkin, owner, T&M Building Company. “We constantly strive to incorporate innovative solutions in our homes to set them apart from competition and impress homebuyers. As the leader in hearth innovation, we look to Heat & Glo to enhance the role of the fireplace in our homes. The Twilight II is particularly exciting because it open ups a home’s design providing an energy-efficient opening to the outdoors in places that weren’t practical or possible before.”
The Twilight II essentially acts as both a fireplace and a window. The direct-vent design creates a sealed combustion chamber that forms a physical barrier between the interior and exterior, and works in a negative-pressure situation to eliminate drafts. With the added attraction of a functioning gas fireplace, the Twilight II makes a unique and breathtaking focal point in the home.
The Annual HOBI Awards Dinner is held each October at the Aqua Turf Country Club, Southington, Conn. This signature awards event is coordinated by the Connecticut Home Builders Association, and is attended by 600+ industry colleagues.
