The Tower Companies announced today that 1909 K Street, known as The Millennium Building and 1828 L Street have been designated BOMA 360 Performance Buildings, among an elite group of properties which have demonstrated that their buildings are managed to the highest standards of excellence.
"We are committed to aggressive energy reduction strategies of our entire portfolio, such as 24/7 real-time monitoring, educating building engineers and clients on conservation best practices, and implementing other BOMA 7-Point Challenge strategies tracked through ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager, but it's especially gratifying to achieve this designation for The Millennium Building, soon after achieving it for The Tower Building, the first green buildings developed in the Washington area," stated Jeffrey S. Abramson, The Tower Companies partner.
"I would especially like to congratulate our team, Nathan Sims, Sam Hilderbrand and David Borchardt for having contributed to our success in achieving these goals," stated Debbie Webb, Director of Property Management for The Tower Companies.
The Tower Companies will be required to renew the BOMA 360 designation every three (3) years and demonstrate annual participation in BOMA's Experience Exchange Report (EER®) and annual benchmarking through ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager, data shared with BOMA.
The Tower Companies is a three-generation family owned award-winning real estate development company designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an ENERGY STAR and Green Power Leader, which owns and manages a portfolio of approximately 4.5 million square feet of USGBC LEED Certified commercial and residential properties.
