YIT Initiates Construction of New Apartments in its Regional Development Project in Russia

YIT is initiating the construction of a new apartment building as part of its Rifei regional development project in the suburban town of Verkhnaya Pyshma near Yekaterinburg, Russia. Rifei is situated in a peaceful area close to a wide range of services and the lakes Isetskoye and Baltym.

The first apartment building of this project (248 apartments) was completed in 2012, and at the moment, the construction of two buildings with a total of 149 apartments is underway. The currently started new building will comprise 204 apartments and 9 storeys.

Rifei is one of YIT’s biggest residential development projects in Russia. The plan for the 14-hectare plot comprises a total of 19 apartment buildings with more than 2,000 apartments for approximately 4,500 residents. The total combined living area is approximately 110,000 square metres. The Rifei showroom apartment introduces customers to the energy-saving technology used in the construction by, such as a ground heat pump, solar panels generating utility electricity for the apartments, LED lights and thermal insulation membranes on windows.

The newest building’s foundation stone was laid on 6 June 2013 by the Finnish Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade, Alexander Stubb, on his Team Finland export promotion tour that included a stop at the YIT construction site.
