BauschLinnemann North America, a manufacturer and distributor of decorative surfaces and bandings for the wood working industry, has announced plans to relocate its headquarters to a new facility in Horry County, S.C.
The company will be relocating to a new office and manufacturing facility spread over 75,000 sq. ft. The new campus can be expanded to 200,000 sq. ft. The company will be investing over $8 million and the facility is expected to be completed in 2013 summer. Initially, the relocation will add 55 new jobs and promote an economic impact of $31 million in the area.
The newly announced jobs increases the total jobs announced by the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation (MBREDC) to 315 for the year. Further, the average wage will be more than the presently prevailing one.
The MBREDC, Horry County Council, the City of Myrtle Beach, the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Burroughs & Chapin, and the North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA) are supporting this project.
BauschLinnemann North America had acquired Coastal Paper in Myrtle Beach in 2010. It also acquired CDM Papier Décor’s manufacturing assets in 2012. In order to achieve efficiency, the company has decided to consolidate its operations in Myrtle Beach.
The President and CEO of BauschLinnemann North America, Mike Phillips stated that South Carolina possessed the skilled workforce and the appropriate business environment required for the functioning of the company. He expressed appreciation of the support received from the MBREDC and the local and state officials.
