Research and Markets has included another report to its catalogue, titled “Brazilian Cement Industry Outlook: Business Opportunities and Future Growth Potential to 2016”. The cement industry in Brazil showed a CAGR of 17.56% during the survey period 2007–2011. For the forecast period 2012–2016, the anticipated CAGR is 9.02%.
The construction sector is expected to be bolstered by Brazil’s economic growth. The GDP showed a CAGR of 3.90% during the survey period and the estimation of growth for forecast period is at a CAGR of 4.16%. Construction net output also showed a CAGR growth of 15.08% during the survey period. This flourishing economic development has steered the infrastructure construction industry in Brazil, which will affect cement consumption positively.
Brazil will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. The arrangements for these ceremonies are expected to push forward the infrastructure construction during the forecast period. The arrangements would involve construction of stadiums, hotels, commercial destinations, roads and airports. This will in turn boost the requirements for cement. The government will be investing more towards achieving this goal of infrastructure construction during the forecast period. The government of Brazil has already started the second phase of its PAC 2 growth acceleration program. By this program, BRL959 billion (US$526 billion) will be channelized toward housing, sanitation, energy and transport segments during the period 2011–2014.
