In Knightdale, on the outskirts of Raleigh, NexCore Group LP has built a hospital-affiliated Wellness Center. It is one of the three outpatient units that NexCore will develop in 2012.
NexCore, an expert in healthcare real-estate development, completed this venture in collaboration with Rex Healthcare which is a non-profit, private organization that has a 433-bed acute care hospital in Raleigh and many satellite outpatient campuses across Wake County.
With the latest unit, Rex now has five wellness units in vital regions of the Triangle area. Rex promoted these centers with the idea of providing the locals, especially patients, with a complete gamut of expert medical and fitness services in their vicinity. All the centers are supported by dieticians, personal trainers, exercise experts, sports medicine professionals and others who are devoted to providing their clients with personalized fitness programs.
NexCore integrated the Wellness Center in the 61,077-square foot medical official building on Rex’s Knightdale satellite premises. The Wellness Center is on the third floor of the medical office building and also on the aquatic extension on the west side of the building. The Center comprises three pools (lap, therapy and spa), whirlpool/sauna/steam room, group exercise and private personal training rooms, the latest cardiovascular and weight training fixtures and children’s activity space.
The inclusion of the Wellness Center brought additional internal medicine, family healthcare, pediatric, critical care, wound care, surgery, sleep lab, on-site lab, imaging (basic radiology and digital mammography), gastroenterology, orthopedic, foot and ankle, pharmacy and wellness facilities to the Rex Knightdale campus.
Rex Healthcare commemorated the inauguration of the new Wellness Center at Knightdale with a grand function on July 14, which featured many interesting activities.
