Hellas to Install Matrix Synthetic Turf at California Memorial Stadium

California Memorial Stadium is going through a major remodelling process and is being surfaced this month with the state-of-the-art artificial Matrix turf manufactured only by Hellas Sports Construction.

This unique turf system will greatly benefit the California Golden Bears when they play host to Nevada in the season-opener scheduled for Saturday, September 1. Other teams besides those playing football could make use of the stadium throughout the year.

The President of Hellas Sports Construction, Reed J. Seaton affirms the high quality of the synthetic turf as a football field. Bob Milano Jr., the Assistant Athletic Director of the organization, expressed excitement that the student athletes would have such a high quality surface to play on and also commended the proficiency of Hellas Construction’s installation team who would be taking care of all matters connected with installation and maintenance of theMatrix synthetic turf.

The Hellas Sports Construction team worked on the sub-base below the upper artificial surface, prepared the drainage and installed the unique CUSHDRAIN. This will greatly enhance the playability of the field for players and also increase the life duration of the field, besides providing a much safer surface for the players to play on.

This sophisticated turf has also been laid for notable clients such as the Sun Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, Dallas Cowboys, and the Alamodome/Valero Bowl.

Matrix turf is the brainchild of Hellas Sports Construction and manufactured solely by the company.
