Interior Construction Underway at New Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center

Balfour Beatty Construction has started interior construction of the new Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center.

Memorial Hermann’s selection of Balfour Beatty Construction to carry out construction management services for its new $7.4 million, 30,000-square-foot center was on the basis of better performance on earlier projects. Philo Wilke provides interior design for the facility and Telios Engineering is the project engineer. Interior construction is slated for completion in November 2012 and the facility is scheduled to be opened in late 2012.

The Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center is situated at West Lake Houston Parkway at the Sam Houston Parkway North feeder road. The new facility is designed to facilitate appointment scheduling for custom health needs such as rehabilitation, physical therapy, prevention, wellness, radiology, CT scan and MRI, by providing choices such as extended evening, walk-in access, weekend hours to families.

For emergency requirements, the center will offer round-the-clock advanced emergency department employed with emergency trained nurses and board-certified emergency medicine doctors of Memorial Hermann Northeast. Balfour Beatty Construction’s Division President, Steve Mechler stated that the company is happy to work once again with Memorial Hermann.

Balfour Beatty Construction has been providing services for Memorial Hermann for more than two decades, constructing over 1.7 million-square-foot space for Memorial Hermann. The Northeast campus’ Chief Executive Officer, Louis G. Smith stated that it is the first Memorial Hermann hospital to launch a convenient care center and he feels happy to bring the state-of-the-art center to the Lake Houston region.
