Home Design Using Advance 3D Software

Home-owners will be able to use advanced computer technology to design or redesign their own home using 3D imaging software, MyVirtualHome, which is to be distributed as a free CD-ROM attached to the November issue of Australian Better Home and Gardens.

The software developers say that MyVirtualHome allows the user to see how their design and renovation ideas will look long before a cent or second has been spent on renovating or building a new home. A major advantage is that users can use the MyVirtualHome 3D-plan to show their home design vision to tradespeople or suppliers. Rooms are created with a click on the master palette and are then dropped into place. Rooms snap together easily while doors and windows are fitted automatically.

To change the placement and size of a room, users can drag and drop the room into place then pull the walls out to the desired measurement. Another feature is a tool to try out various furnishings, materials and finishes and see just how they fit into the overall design.

Added to this is an online search directory on the MyVirtualHome website that allows users to find service providers, tradespersons and consultants in their area. New businesses are constantly being added to the directory service, according to the developers.
