The official groundbreaking ceremony has been celebrated for the Sanford Health Moorhead Campus. Construction of the Sanford Moorhead Campus will start with the Sanford Moorhead Clinic, a 47,000-square-foot facility slated for opening in summer 2014.
The existing 7,000-square-foot clinic in Moorhead offers medical services, including medical home, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, family medicine and pharmacy and lab services.
This new $13 million project will further expand the medical services offered in the facility by adding new services, including outreach services for specialty care, occupational medicine, orthopedics, behavioral health, women’s services, pediatrics, and a gift shop and retail pharmacy.
The Sanford Moorhead Campus will be built on a 27-acre site at the 34th St. exit and I-94. The campus will be constructed in Sanford’s signature collegiate gothic design. JLG Architects and AECOM are the architects for the project. The facility will be designed using advanced technology to provide advanced care to patients by reducing wait time and enabling a continuous flow.
According to Sanford Health’s Senior Executive Vice President of Fargo Division, Richard Marsden, the Sanford Moorhead Campus is an illustration of the company’s commitment of continuous growth. Sanford Health’s Senior Vice President, Stephen Nelson commented that one of the objectives of this project is to offer an advanced medical care to the community through a cutting-edge approach. The company has designed the blue print of this project by getting insights from patients, community leaders, employees and many others.
