Coventry Development’s subsidiary, CDC Houstan has selected three builders for the 1st phase of sustainable residence called Springwoods Village, a master-planned community of 1,800-acres. It is located 30 miles north of downtown Houston next to the ExxonMobil campus, which is presently under construction.
Each builder has been given a project by the Springwoods Village development team, Sullivan Brothers Builders has been assigned with mixed-lot, new-urbanist residential community; Martin Fein Interests will handle comfortable multi-family properties; and Taylor Morrison will look after large, single-family luxury homes.
According to the Executive Vice President and Director of Development for CDC Houston, Keith Simon, the three builders were chosen from among other builders because of their quality architecture, expertise, and competitive prices for home buyers.
Community builders were required to demonstrate their capability to construct sustainable housing products that can satisfy all the criteria, such as frequent-traveler executives who require near-office base, people who need a house near their job place, working parents and so on.
The project named “The Preserve District” is consigned to National homebuilder Taylor Morrison and it will feature 51 luxurious, large one-storey and two-storey homes on a space of 22 ac, and will be located close to the future Town Center and ExxonMobil campus. Homes will include green technology and high quality finishes. The range of the home floors plans starts form 3,000 sq. ft. to 4,800 sq. ft. Site construction will commence on January 2013 and model homes will be displayed to public by October 2013.
Another project is a new-urban neighborhood named Harper Woodson, which has been assigned to Houston-based builder, Sullivan Brothers. This project will include 90 homes and cover an area of 15.79 ac. Green routes for biking, walking, and public transportation will feature in this project. Sullivan Brothers will construct small single-family homes and town homes that will range from 1,500 sq. ft. to 3,000 sq. ft. Model homes are likely to be available for public viewing by September 2013.
The Belvedere project is a multi-family rental property, which will be built by Houston-based Martin Fein. The project will include a workout area, pool, secured parking and other similar amenities. The grand project is planned to have 339 units. Construction work will initiate on November 2012 and units will be open for lease by 2013.
In Springwoods Village’s future residential development phases, other multi-family developers and home builders will be given an opportunity to be a part of this project.
