The recently renovated Veterans Memorial Building features PHONSTOP Ceiling tiles from pinta acoustic. The installation of these tiles which have the capability of controlling acoustics is significant since the memorial building conducts gatherings by community groups, veterans and seniors.
The Veterans Memorial Building was established during 1925 after. Renovation of the building was carried out recently after which the total area of the building has increased to 13,000 sq. ft. PHONSTOP ceiling tiles have been installed in both the old and the new portions of the building which is in the process of acquiring LEED certification.
The tiles have been fully made with recycled glass and have an NRC of 0.70-0.90. They also come with porous sound absorbers and are light in weight. They come in two measurements which are 24”x24”2” and 24”x48”x2” and can be installed on a ceiling grid system and directly on to walls. The tiles can be customised in colour with the help of an acoustical coating in the field which can be applied by a certified applicator.
The PHONSTOP plaster can help the tiles to have a monolithic smooth appearance. The tiles have bevelled edges on one side and on the reverse side have square edges. For the Veterans Memorial Building, the tiles were painted white and directly applied to the ceiling and three additional coats of waterborne non-bridging paint have been applied.
