Balfour Beatty, a globally recognized infrastructure group, has received a certification to the new Collaborative Business Relationships standard by the British Standard Institute. This standard also known as BS11000 recognizes the significance of collaboration for the improvement of sustainable relationships, company performance and competitiveness.
Balfour Beatty COO, Andrew McNaughton stated that the company has extensive experience in collaborations, alliances, team integration and this has played an important role in receiving this award.
This standard will act as a strategic structured framework to enable the company to develop its partnerships furthermore and inspire excellent practices across the Group. The company looks forward to working together with its supply chain and customers in order to form sustainable relationships to meet future challenges, he added.
The projects that were assessed in order to receive this award include the following:
- Crossrail South East Section Project with Network Rail
- Finsbury Park to Alexander Palace Capacity Improvement Works with Network Rail
- North West Gas Alliance with National Grid
- Electricity Alliance East with National Grid
- Terminal 2B at London Heathrow with BAA
These projects include important strategic clients from across the Balfour Beatty group. In the utilities sector the company’s National grid partnerships are based on open relationship management, co-location and shared best practice, goals, resources and objectives. In the rail sector, the company worked closely with Network Rail through combined workshops in order to develop a common approach and understanding to BS11000 on both Alexandra Palace and Crossrail South East Section Project to Finsbury Park Capacity Improvement Works and supported each other successfully through the BSI audit process.
