Luxury home builder, Shapell Homes has announced that it will build a residential neighbourhood in Wilder over an area of 1,600 ac in Orinda, California. Towards this end, the company has entered into an agreement with developer Brooks Street.
As per the agreement, close to 50 homes are likely to be constructed over the next few years. Construction of the initial two houses, which will be located in Rabble Road, is expected to begin in the near future. While the first home will cover an area of 4,487 sq. ft. with five bedrooms and Spanish Colonial Revival style architecture, the second home will cover an area of 4,175 sq. ft. with four bedrooms and feature the contemporary Bay Area Cottage style architecture.
Overall the neighbourhood community will feature 245 single-family homes accompanied by trails and pathways. Amenities in the community include private neighbourhood swim and recreation centre and five community playfields. The community will also feature 1,300 ac of open space. The sizes of each home range from one-quarter acre to over one acre.
Potential buyers can either purchase a readymade built home or purchase a homesite and choose from the designs that have been created for Wilder by Hunt Hale Jones and Robert Hidey Architects. Wilder is the first planned community neighbourhood to be built in Orinda in 20 years. Shapell Industries has been responsible for the construction of more than 70,000 new homes in the areas of Southern and Northern California.
