Ecobuild India to Take Place in Mumbai

UBM has announced that Ecobuild India will take place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre from April 16 to 18, 2013. The event is being organised by UBM Built Environment which is the media division of the construction, architecture and property company UBM India.

The exhibition in India is being supported by major partners such as Institute of Indian Interior Designers, Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India, UK Trade and Investment, Chartered Institute of Building, Building Research Establishment of UK and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Investment in the construction industry in India is at its peak now. Demand for commercial, industrial and residential spaces is increasing in developing cities in India. The Indian Government also has kept the development of infrastructure in the country as its top priority. For its fifth five year plan the Indian Planning Commission plans to invest an additional $1 trillion in this regard up to 2017. It is estimated that the Indian construction industry will grow to be the third largest in the global arena by the year 2020 thus accounting for 7% of global spending. The Indian industry is currently worth $300 billion and forms 20% GDP. The industry is expected to achieve a compounded annual growth rate of 14% by 2015 to $500 billion. In terms of Private Public Partnership Projects, India is second to China and the Indian Planning Commission intends to use this platform for financing infrastructure projects and thus in turn provide opportunities to international construction and property firms.
