Columbia Forest, a manufacturer of hardwood veneer and plywood products, has launched urea formaldehyde (UF) free PureBond Classic Core panels.
For producing these panels, voidless engineered MDF has been used combined with a veneer inner ply for high product integrity, beauty and performance.
The company, along with researchers at the College of Forestry, Oregon State University developed formaldehyde- free building products, which were delivered in 2005. The indoor air quality is enhanced while using these products.
Light weight and high-strength veneer core is offered due to the ingenious panel design. As urea formaldehyde is not added and the panels comply to CARB-Phase II, they help gain LEED IEQ 4.4 credits.
The panels can be used in cabinetry and fixtures and furniture. The fabricators can provide high quality products to their customers. The panels can be procured also in J Classic Core style and on request, are available as FSC-certified products.
The Marketing Director of the company, Todd Vogelsinger said that the changeover to the panels has been done across its complete product portfolio at Klamath Falls, Oregon plant. He added that the changeover started with Classic Core panels in 2011 summer. 4'x6' and 4'x10' panels were included later, the same year. Finally, Classic Lam product series are on the streamline.
He also included that, since the panels are produced in the Oregon mill, they are available at reasonable prices without requiring special orders and extended delivery time. The panels can be availed even from other six plants of the company, he stated.
