Houston based Wood Partners has announced that it has commenced construction of the Alta Woodlake Square luxury apartment in Westchase District. The $32.4 million apartment will consist of 256 units and three stories. It will house studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments and is located next to the Woodlake Square Shopping Centre.
The Alta Woodlake Square units have already received National Green Building Standard certification. Each unit will consist of stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, vinyl plank flooring in kitchen and living area and subway tile backlashes. All the units will be fitted with a washer and dryer and garden tubs in the bathroom.
Some half of the units will be fitted with in-wall iPod docking stations and mounted speakers in the living room. Common areas will comprise barbecue grills, water fountain, fitness centre, bar and kitchen area, outdoor kitchen with TV and club room. Leasing for the property is likely to commence by March 2013 and residents are likely to move in by June 2013. The company has worked with AmREIT for designing the units in order to maintain the residential feeling of the centre. The location of the apartments is very close to the Westchase District, the Energy Corridor and the Galleria. According to a report released by the Houston Association of REALTORS there has been a major increase in the number of people who have moved to Houston due to the creation of around 66,300 jobs in the past year in the area.
