NCC Construction Norway has inked a contract with Oslo Lufthavn for foundation concrete and engineering work at Gardermoen Airport.
The value of the contract is around SEK 475 million. The company has planned to continue the work for three years and this work is an extension of the Gardermoen Airport.
Gardermoen airport has almost reached its capacity ceiling and hence, will expand its operations with a new pier, which will ensure expanded arrival and departure halls to increase the capacity. The contract of NCC is related to the Sentralbygning Vest extension.
NCC received the construction contract based on many criteria, wherein the wide knowledge of NCC in concrete work was central, along with a consistent and realistic plan and exceptional proposals for technical execution, and also its logistic solutions and collaboration with additional contractors in the project.
The focus of NCC on eco-friendly offerings had an impact since all construction sites of the company in Norway are eco-friendly construction sites. The work places depend on the thorough environmental requirements that include efficient waste management and energy-efficient solutions.
Since 1994, the company has many projects at the Gardermoen Airport. This site has a complicated construction, when considered in terms of security and environment. The company will start the work in April 2012 and has planned to continue the same till February 2015.
