Freud’s New Precision Crosscut Blades Slice Through Plywood Flawlessly

Freud’s industrial saw blade line is always evolving, and the newest blade is nothing short of perfection.

The LU80R series of Precision Crosscut Blades are the latest in saw blade technology to produce an absolutely flawless, chip-free finish in hard and softwoods, and is ideal for veneered plywood, melamines and laminates.

“There’s a real need in the woodworking marketplace for a plywood blade that can withstand the demands of cutting manmade materials without sacrificing life or finish,” comments Cliff Paddock, Director New Product Development – Cutting Tools.

Freud has mastered the art of designing saw blades specifically for an application, and incorporating all of the variables that go into making it the ultimate blade for the job.

The LU80R blades feature Freud’s own TiCo™ Hi-Density Crosscutting Carbide Blend which features more tungsten making the carbide very hard, allowing it to maintain a sharp cutting edge in crosscutting applications. Another Freud innovation featured on the LU80R010 (10” 80 Tooth) and LU80R012 (12” 96 Tooth) blades is the laser-cut anti-vibration slots which drastically reduce the vibration and sideways movement in the cut; extending blade live and producing a crisp, splinter-free finish.

Combined with the HiATB Tooth Design, the result is a cut so smooth it eliminates the need for a stabilizer or a scoring blade.
