Zocalo Community Development, a Denver-based housing development and construction business, declared that it has contracted an accord with Berkeley Heights, New Jersey located Connell to sell its Solera, a high-rise downtown Denver apartment construction project.
The building has 120 apartment units and 5,200 sq ft of commercial space. The sale, which was concluded in October 2011, has earned a record price per unit and per square foot for the company, which is considered to be the highest in the state of Colorado.
Solera, the first ever LEED Gold certified apartment construction in Downtown Denver, has obtained its certificate of occupancy in October this year. The 11-storey apartment construction comprises one and two bed room units with rental values from $1,185 to $3,090 per month. The housing units designed with open kitchen layouts, large sized windows and lofty-style ceilings and breathtaking city and mountain views remains one among the highest rental valued properties in downtown Denver. The apartment unit one among the few dozen LEED Gold accredited apartment projects in the country serve as a selling point for the Connell Company engaged in rice distribution, equipment leasing, mining and real estate.
Solera apartments constructed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council standards have a number of eco-friendly finishes and facilities such as programmable thermostats, dual flush toilets to save water, occupancy sensors to manage the lighting, energy star rated appliances, and high performance windows to allow more natural light in the building. The energy monitor installed at the unit enables easy monitoring of energy usage by day and by month and allows the occupants to have more informed decisions about their energy usage. The power conserving installations enable the residents to save 50% of their normal energy usage and the apartment units are close to entertainment locations, restaurants and shops.
