Irvine Company Office Properties has declared that two of its possessions in San Diego, have been presented the LEED certifications for their sustainable performance.
101 W. Broadway, a 20 storey construction in the business district of San Diego and La Jolla Center, an office complex comprise of two buildings in La Jolla-University Towne Centre, are the two constructions owned by the company that have received LEED certifications from the U.S. Green Building Council.
101 W. Broadway has received the LEED Platinum, the highest level of LEED certification for the existing buildings under operations and management category. The building scored for its eco-friendly cleaning, transportation, temperature monitoring, sustainable purchases, waste management and water and energy efficiency. The building scored over 80 out of the achievable 110 points, which includes bonus points to achieve LEED platinum certification. The building constructed in 1982 is one among the few buildings constructed during the period to achieve LEED certification. The building is located near Westfield Horton Plaza retail center, hotels, City Hall and central and state courthouses. The Santa Fe Depot offers access to Amtrak and Coaster trains and to San Diego Trolley.
Its La Jolla Centre has achieved LEED silver certifications under Operation and Management category of the existing buildings. The center has earned 50 to 59 out of 110 points to achieve Silver Certification. La Jolla Centre is ideally located in the center of the technology corridor in San Diego. The two buildings constructed using steel and glass provides eye-catching views of Torrey Pines and the Pacific Ocean. A number of entertainment, dining and shopping facilities are available located at the Westfield UTC retail center located close by.
