CxGBS has announced that the company has accomplished the commissioning of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority House at the Mississippi State University Campus in Starkville, Mississippi.
The newly-built house held and operated by the Fraternity Housing (FHC) and Pi Beta Phi and it houses Pi Beta Phi’s Mississippi Gamma Chapter.
FHC and Pi Beta Phi employed CxGBS to be an objective third-party and make sure that the construction of the sorority house satisfied their specifications as well as the conditions required for attaining the LEED certification.
The new Pi Phi House measures approximately 20,000 sq ft and contains 20 bedrooms, including accommodation for the house director and the chapter president. The architectural style and façade of the house was modeled in accordance with the neighboring structures on the campus. The newly constructed house has an colored brick exterior with breezeways on the exterior. It also includes study and dining halls, a formal living room, study rooms, TV lounges and a library.
Leah FitzGerald from Fraternity Housing said that the company’s objective in designing the sorority house was to construct a sustainable house that can serve as a specimen of the management’s ethics, which Pi Beta Phi inculcate in its members and it sets an example for other sororities across the nation.
Pi Beta Phi recently won the special acknowledgment when the U.S. Green Building Council recognized its newly-built house as the first sorority house in the nation with a LEED Silver certification.
