KB Home Announces Ten Energy-Efficient Home Communities in Bay Area

KB Home, a leading US homebuilder, has announced the launch of 10 communities of energy-efficient homes, carrying its signature Built to Order feature, in the Bay Area.

The communities are scattered around seven major submarkets in the Bay Area, which include cities such as Dublin, Martinez, Fremont, Petaluma, Morgan Hill, and Walnut Creek. Out of the 10 communities, six are currently open and offer a broad range of attached town home and single family designs, and the remaining four communities are expected to be ready by early autumn.

KB Home celebrated the launch of Stone Ridge and Sterling Hills at Quarry Heights located in Petaluma, Bella Monte in Dublin, Walden Park in Walnut Creek, Highlands Place in Martinez, and Mission Ridge in Fremont in July 2011. In all these six newly launched communities, available designs are displayed in model homes, which are open to visitors. The Morgan Hill and Santa Clara communities are scheduled to be ready by this September.

The homes in the new Bay Area communities will be “Built to Order”, that is, homebuyers can customize their home in the building stage according to their requirements. They can choose the site for their home, floor plan and other structural options such as exterior looks and finishing designs.

All the new homes will be GreenPoint rated and will comply with ENERGY STAR standards. They will have an energy-efficient design and will help the owners save significantly on energy bills. To demonstrate the benefits of the green building to customers, KB Home has released an Energy Performance Guide (EPG), which gives valuable information about the energy-efficient features of KB homes and estimated monthly gas and electricity savings that can be achieved in homes with such designs.
