Acoustiblok Launches Advanced DIY Soundproofing Material

Acoustiblok, a provider of noise abatement solutions, has introduced Acoustiblok-Wallcover, an advanced soundproofing product that can provide noise reduction for any type of room.

Acoustiblok-Wallcover, the newest DIY noise deadening product from Acoustiblok, Inc., applies directly on top of existing drywall.

The Acoustiblok-Wallcover product can be applied over existing wall surfaces and concrete. The walls need not be torn down. The material is heavy and weighs about one lb/sq ft. It is a DIY solution and requires around 2-3 people for installation. The wall cover and can be installed easily by applying an adhesive spray. The product is supplied in 4'x8' and 4'x10' sections. For installation of light switch panels and electric sockets cutouts can be created with a simple type of box cutter. The material can be wallpapered or painted.

The Acoustiblok-Wallcover has a special type of aerospace nanotechnology laminate that provides the noise reduction. Sound reduction includes stoppage of both mechanical sound transmission and airborne sound, and the product arrests both sounds. In tests, the product provided a sound transmission classification of 53, which was more than that provided by poured concrete of 12" thickness.

The product can be used as a noise barrier in condos and apartments. It can prevent seepage of noises, conversations and loud music between neighboring units. The wall cover can also be used in homes to prevent noise from traveling from a room with a home theater or television running at full volume to the nursery or study where tranquility is needed.

The Acoustiblok-Wallcover can be used for private meeting rooms and conference rooms to provide confidentiality to the meetings and prevent sensitive information from being heard in the adjacent rooms.
