Marriott International and Granite Broadway Development Join Hands to Develop Hotel in New York

Marriott International and Granite Broadway Development have contracted a franchise accord to develop two conspicuously different hotels such as Courtyard and Residence Inn located in a 68 storied construction in Manhattan/Central Park.

The Courtyard and Residence Inn hotels owned by Marriot Hotel and located at 1717 Broadway have 378 and 261 rooms respectively.

Architect Nobutaka Ashihara has provided the design for the construction that will attain a height of 752 ft. and 9” in. and become the tallest hotel building in New York. The Residence Inn will be constructed to provide all-suite type of accommodation to encourage a longer stay at the hotel while the Courtyard Hotel will provide the needed refreshing ambiance for leisure and business travelers. A leased restaurant and retail space is also included in the property. The construction planned with multi-million dollar investment is anticipated to open during the last part of 2013.

The arrival lobby and main entrance on 54th street will be shared by both the hotels. The public domains of the Courtyard will be located on the 4th floor while Residence Inn will have them on the 3rd floor. Courtyard will have its guest rooms from 6th to the 32nd floor while Residential Inn will occupy the 36th to 64th floors and separate elevators will serve the public areas and guestrooms of each hotel. The leased restaurant at the hotel will occupy the 2nd and 5th floor in addition to the ground floor space. The 5th floor will have a lounge and terrace overlooking Broadway. A fitness facility located on the 34th floor will be shared by both the hotels.

The Courtyard by Marriott with its 378 rooms will provide its theme feature a “refreshing business" lobby with flexible spaces, new technology, modern design features and its exclusive GoBoard technology featuring a 55 ” LCD interactive screen providing local information, headlines on sports and weather and maps.
