Nicor National, a supplier of energy management and home warranty solutions, has declared that its new building construction has accomplished the Certified LEED level recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council. The company has achieved the certification for the construction that currently holds its call center operations and will become its corporate headquarters.
Nicor National started the construction in 2010 February and moved over 200 employees to the new location in 2010 May. Keystone Property Group owns and managed the office complex. Business Office Systems, Clune Construction and two more business alliances have assisted Nicor National in achieving the LEED certification.
Nicor National has achieved LEED certification for the construction by following clean construction practices. It installed equipment to conserve its water and energy usage in the building, it introduced safer and healthier ambience for the occupants of the building, it did not use any paint or other materials that release dangerous green house gas discharges, it preserved the farmland and other natural resources during the construction process and finally it brought down the quantity of construction materials sent to landfills by reusing most of them.
Dan Dodge, Nicor National’s President, stated that the new office construction remains eco-friendly and assists in saving energy. He added that from the very initial stage of the construction process, the company has included clauses that support green LEED certified practices in the accords contracted with the vendors and suppliers and achieved the present status.
