Sabey Data Center Properties, a Seattle-based company, has unveiled its plans to construct a 490,000 ft2 data center facility in the data center corridor of Northern Virginia over 38 acres of bare land.
The company is planning to utilize the services of Sabey Construction (SCI) as general contractor for the project. The project known as Intergate.Ashburn is expected to commence its construction in late summer of 2011. The company has already initiated the rental formalities.
Intergate.Ashburn located close to the Dulles International Airport, will have close proximity to all the networks located in the region and will enable Sabey to improve its data center footprint. Three buildings in the campus are earmarked to provide powered shell data center and turnkey products of Sabey in the form of single and multi-tenant lay-outs. In order to cater to the varying design and power requirements of the clients, the data center site will be equipped with 70 MW power.
The construction design of Intergate.Ashburn will resemble that of Intergate.Quincy, a 520,000 ft2 data center being constructed in Central Washington. The fundamental design of both the projects was honed by utilizing the experience gained by the company in constructing the 438,000 ft2 Intergate.Columbia data center in Central Washington
Sabey has recently acquired a 1million square foot property in New York City where it is planning to commence a 40 MW Intergate.Manhattan data center project soon and anticipates opening it in 2012.
