Hinkley Lighting Gallery, has declared a range of energy efficient alternative lighting to the proposed phasing out of the 100 W incandescent lights from January 2012.
The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 made it mandatory for the producers of incandescent bulbs to increase the energy efficiency of the bulbs produced by 25% and suggested for the phasing out of incandescent bulbs. The existence of the energy saving light fittings such as compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), light emitting diode (LED) gave relief to the consumers, states the New York Times.
According to Karishma Baijal, a spokesperson at Hinkley Lighting Gallery the CFL and LED bulbs save around 75% on energy consumption when compared to incandescent bulbs and serves for around 10 to 15 times longer duration.
