Solyndra, a company that designs and produces solar PV systems for use in commercial rooftop segment, has announced the availability of Solyndra 200 Series cylindrical photovoltaic (CPV) systems for metal roof applications.
The new system is designed to overcome the problems encountered during solar installation on metal roofs.
The Solyndra 200 Series systems do not require tools during the installation process and can be altered according to the configurations of low-slop metal roof shapes supplied by roof manufacturers. The system does not have any attachments and can be installed quickly than other types of standing seam products available in the market.
The mounting systems, with 2.8 lbs distributed load per square foot of area, enable easy and simple installation without penetrations or ballast. When installed according to the guidelines of the company, the systems can endure up to 130 mph of wind speed. The modules are supplied in white roof or reflective type of cool roof models that can conserve energy and cut down ambient heating induced by rooftops while generating power. The modules can be conveniently installed over temporary buildings.
