Technip, a project management, engineering and construction company serving the energy industry, declared that it received a contract from Statoil for the development of Vigdis NE field.
The award, valued around €55 million, will require Technip to make the necessary developments at water depths of 220 to 310 m in the Norwegian Sea.
According to the terms of the contract, Technip will complete the welding and erection of flowlines, which are laid at the seabed and used for fluid injection or transportation of oil/gas. The flowlines include a 9 km plastic-seamed water injection flowline and a 1.5 km length pipe-in-pipe production flowline.
The company will also install the sub-sea equipment and other tie-ins of flowlines, umblicals, jumpers and flexible tails. It will supply the required flexible tails for the flowlines.
The company intends to perform the flowline welding at the spoolbase in Orkanger, Norway. Installations of the flowlines will be completed during the middle part of 2012 using Technip’s Apache II a pipe-laying vessel. The contract will be executed by the company’s operating center located in Oslo, Norway.
