Pardee Homes has become the first home builder in California to construct a new house project adhering to the National Green Building Standard (NGBS).
The project has been certified by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), an independent third party firm. The NGBS is the only green home rating system accepted by the American National Standards Institute.
Pardee is constructing the new LivingSmart Homes in Fair Oaks Ranch, Santa Clara to meet the gold standards of the NGBS. The project is being inspected by qualified green auditors at least two times during the construction and has been Green Certified by the Research Center.
The certification of the green practices, systems and products used in the construction of LivingSmart homes ensures buyers that the newly constructed homes conforms or surpasses both new CalGreen specifications of California and the green standards of NGBS.
Some of the sustainable features of the new buildings that will assist in earning LEED Gold Certification include preservation of open space, water conserving measures and location proximity of the building to schools, recreational facilities, shopping and the metro link. The LivingSmart Homes are offered in four types of floor plans ranging from 1,846 to 2,432 square feet of living area.
