Strongco has unveiled its plans to spread out its operations in Alberta with the construction of a new building for its branch in Edmonton.
The existing facility of the company located in Edmonton’s Sherwood Park area is being shared by its Volvo/Multiline and Strongco's Crane business operations. On completion of the new facility, the present facility will be used by its crane operation.
The proposed 37,150 square feet building facility will be placed over 6.5 acres of land located in the Parkland Industrial Park in Acheson situated on the Northwest side of Edmonton. Strongco is planning to designate the new facility as a Volvo branch o equipped with a full range of products from Volvo Construction Equipment and other products from leading companies.
According to Bob Dryburgh, Strongco’s President and Chief Executive Officer, the current shared facility at Edmonton restricts the crane products support capability of the company and cuts down its abilities to service the equipment of the clients especially the rebuilds of bigger cranes are underway. He expects the new facility to get rid of the existing restraints.
Construction of the proposed facility is expected to commence in June and is anticipated to get completed by December 2011. Construction of the new building is estimated to cost around $9.5 million.
