HDR, Gilbane Team to Execute Green Line Light Rail Extension Project

The HDR/Gilbane Team, a partnership between Gilbane Building and HDR Engineering has been granted a contract by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority for managing the construction and project management of the Green Line extension project.

The project requires the extension of the Green Line, the oldest light rail line of the country, from the present Lechmere Station to Medford, Mass. The HDR/Gilbane Team will be engaged in formulating the design, managing the design and construction and executing the total management of the extension project.

The total project costing more than $950 million is anticipated to be completed by the year 2015.
