Technip is a global head in the project management, engineering and construction areas for the oil and gas industry. It provides a broad range of ground-breaking technologies and solutions.
Technip has received an installation contract from TAQA Bratani for developing the Falcon field. This field is situated in the North Sea about 560 kilometers northeast of Aberdeen and in 160 meters of water.
The installation contract includes project management and engineering, mounting a 6” production flexible flowline, a 4” gas lift flexible flowline, control umbilical and a subsea distribution unit. This also incorporates replacement of a flexible riser, then guttering and refilling the flowlines and umbilical, pre-commissioning, tie-ins and testing.
The contract will be carried out by the operating center of Technip in Aberdeen, Scotland. Under the terms of the supply contract, the Group’s flexible pipe plant will manufacture flowlines in Le Trait, France. Orelia, the diving support vessel of Technip will perform the offshore installation and will complete the work in the second half of 2011.
This is the first deal awarded by TAQA Bratani to Technip, which consider this as a great achievement.
