Chicago Bridge + Iron Receives Yamal LNG Liquefaction Plant FEED Contract

Chicago Bridge & Iron declared that the company has been chosen by Yamal LNG to perform front end engineering & design (FEED) works for the project of Yamal LNG.

The LNG project includes manufacture, handling, moving, liquefying, and sending of the natural gas and natural gas liquids from the South Tambey field located on the Yamal Peninsula, in Northern Siberia, Russia. The field is projected to have over one trillion cubic meters of natural gas.

Chicago Bridge & Iron will develop front end engineering & design for the LNG liquefaction plant, which is expected to handle 16.5 million tons annually, which includes facilities for storing LNG and its loading. During the FEED process Chicago Bridge & Iron will involve Chiyoda and Saipem its international partners and will collaborate with NIPIgazpererabotka, a design institute from Russia, to meet the needs of the local design and approval from authorities.

The FEED will offer a solid foundation for the detailed engineering, purchase and building phase of the project, its time frame and investment cost to assist Yamal LNG to arrive at an ultimate investment decision. The contract value is not revealed by the company.
