ThyssenKrupp Elevator, declared the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Madrid, Spain. The new elevator production facility was officially opened by His Royal Highness Felipe de Borbón, Crown Prince of Spain and Prince of Asturias, on 18th March 2011 in the presence of the top officials from the company.
The new plant in addition to the elevator manufacturing facilities will also put up a new research and development center incorporating a 41 meter height elevator test tower. The manufacturing facility constructed over a 60,000 square meter site will soon have its logistics warehouse, a building to locate its offices, an international training center, and a show room constructed in phases. The company is planning to complete the installation of all the facilities by the year 2014.
According to Javier del Pozo, CEO Southern Europe, Africa and Middle East operations, the new production facility located in the Móstoles Technology Park will house the research and development units and other organizational units in a single place at Madrid. He explained that having all the capabilities from production to delivery in a single place will allow the company to respond to the customer needs quickly and flexibly.
