Lighting Science Group Installs Energy Efficient LED Lamps at Simon Malls

Lighting Science Group has declared that the mall kiosks owned by the Simon Property Group all over the country will sport the energy efficient LED light bulbs supplied by the company.

The DEFINITY MR 16 LED bulbs installed at the kiosks underwent the tough ENERGY STAR Eligibility Criteria to ensure consistency and performance in an independent laboratory certified by the U.S. Department of Energy's CALiPER program. Before providing the ENERGY STAR rating, the DEFINITY LED bulbs were tested under the LM79 criterion by the certified private laboratories for their total efficiency, color rendering, color temperature, light emission pattern and color spatial consistency. The bulbs were also subjected to additional tests such as in-situ temperature sensing, rapid cycle thermal stress screening, lumen and color maintenance testing and functional tests for 3,000 hours in increased and closed level temperature before granting the ENERGY STAR rating.

The ENERGY STAR rated DEFINITY MR 16 LED bulbs erected in the kiosks are around 80% more efficient than the normal halogen bulbs and can be dimmed fully. The bulbs will provide around 50% of more light output than other similar products available in the market. The ‘instant on,’ bulbs have no mercury and can be recycled fully.
