Jacobs Engineering, a provider of varied professional, technical and construction solutions, declared that it has been contracted by Jubail Chemical Industrial Company (JANA), a fully owned auxiliary of NAMA Chemicals (NAMA), to offer technical and project administration services for expansion of its existing epichlorohydrin plant and construction of a new plant at Jubail, Saudi Arabia,. The value of the contract is not known.
Under the terms of the signed accord, Jacobs will provide project administration and technical services for both outside battery limits (OSBL) and inside battery limits (ISBL). The OSBL services will include the storage area of the plant and all utility areas and the ISBL services requires Jacobs to remove the existing process constraint problems at the epichlorohydrin plant to improve its production capacity.
The scope of the contract also includes preparation of cost estimates for the project and extending administrative support for the proposed epichlorohydrin plant, coming up at the same location in Jubail. The expansion will allow the company to augment its epoxy resins production capability at Jubail to 240 ktpa.
