LUXEON LEDs Achieve ENERGY STAR Rating

The LEDs manufactured by LUXEON have become the first ever ENERGY STAR rated LEDs to substitute a normal 60-watt bulb.

The Philips AmbientLED bulb sold under the brand name Philips EnduraLED from Philips Lumileds incorporating 18 LUXEON Rebel LEDs has conformed to or outdid the energy competence needs and quality set by ENERGY STAR for a 60-watt LED equivalent. The LED bulb is currently available for the use of professionals as well as consumers.

During the real-time working conditions, the temperature inside the LED will reach 100°C or more, and in an ENERGY STAR rated LED solution it is expected to supply adequate light to achieve a minimum of 800 lumens and a color delivering index of 80 and must provide dependable service to sustain a minimum warranty period of three years. The Philips AmbientLED with LUXEON- based solution is available with a six year warranty. To meet the changing types and styles of bulb requirements, according to geographical locations, Philips Lumileds is regularly improving and diversifying its range of LUXEON LRDs with dissimilar CCT, CRI and light output features.

According to Steve Barlow, Philips Lumileds’s EVP of Sales and Marketing, the LUXEON LEDs supply the light, dependability and efficiency needed by the retrofit bulb producers all over the world to cope up with growing global standards.
