Lauren Engineers & Constructors, Inc, a leading Design-Build contractor in the United Sates, announced today the formation of a new partnership with CCL Optoelectronics Private Limited to pursue the installation of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) facilities in India.
“Lauren is a leader in the design and construction of CSP facilities in the United States, and we’re excited about the opportunity to expand our business in this new market,” said Cleve Whitener, Lauren’s Chief Executive Officer. “The Lauren CCL partnership is focused on leveraging our broad base of experience in CSP projects to create innovative and cost-effective solutions for the Solar Power market in India.”
The Government-Sponsored Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission has provided a timeline for developing a large number of solar projects in India over the next decade. Specifically, the Mission has set a target of 20,000 megawatts of solar power generation over the next decade.
“CCL is well known as a pioneer of innovation in India. In partnership with Lauren, we will apply these same principles of innovation to create sustainable solutions for solar power,” said Yeshwant Rao, CEO of CCL Optoelectronics. “Together, Lauren CCL will help meet the key goal of the National Solar Mission: to establish India as a global leader in solar energy.”
Lauren’s background in Concentrated Solar Power is extensive. Lauren served as the EPC contractor for the 75 MW Martin Solar Energy Center in Florida, as well as the 72MW Nevada Solar One Plant in Boulder City, Nevada. These two plants are the 2nd and 3rd largest solar plants built in the world over the last 20 Years and represent 90% of the CSP generating capacity in the United States.
