Chiyoda (TOKYO:6366) announced today that Woodside has awarded CJV, a joint venture comprising Chiyoda Corporation, as a JV leader, CB&I and Saipem S.p.A. for the FEED contract for the onshore component of the Browse LNG Development natural gas liquefaction facilities in Western Australia.
The work scope includes the development of the optimum design of the onshore LNG and condensate production and export facilities, which will incorporate high safety, environmental and community collaboration standards.
In addition to the onshore LNG production and export facilities, the Browse LNG development concept includes three floating gas and liquids platforms and a central processing facility in shallower water. The first phase of the Browse liquefaction facilities will be designed for 12 million metric tones per annum of LNG capacity, and ultimately will have the potential to deliver up to 25 million metric tones of LNG production capacity per annum. The Browse fields are estimated to contain a combined contingent resource of 13.3 trillion cubic feet of sales gas and 360 million barrels of condensate.
Woodside awarded contracts to both CJV and another contractor to create a competitive environment for the development of the FEED contract. Woodside is expecting to award the full EPC contract to one of these contractors.
