Gill-Simpson Announces Purchase of W.R. Casteel

Gill-Simpson, a Baltimore-based electrical engineering and construction company, today announced its acquisition of the assets of W.R. Casteel Company, an electrical constructor with niche experience in providing electrical engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the energy infrastructure market.

Headquartered in Hopwood, Pa., W.R. Casteel was founded by Wilbur "Bill" R. Casteel in 1969 and employs 110 project management, engineering, estimating, and construction personnel. Over the past 17 years, the firm has flourished under the leadership of Todd Casteel, who bolstered the firm's offerings in several growth sectors, including renewable energy, natural gas, and utility services.

W.R. Casteel Company, now WR Casteel, LLC, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gill-Simpson and will operate as the firm's energy infrastructure division. The new division will focus on the utility, renewable energy, and natural gas extraction sectors under the ongoing leadership of its president, Todd Casteel.

"We are excited to have Todd and his team become part of the Gill-Simpson family," said Chris Odell, president / CEO of Gill-Simpson. "WR Casteel brings a stellar reputation in the energy infrastructure market and our firms share a common strength – a culture of commitment to customers, fellow employees and the community. These shared values will be the adhesive for successfully uniting our firms as we advance."

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
