Turner Construction Shifts Atlanta Office to LEED Certified Building

Turner Construction Company, the nation’s largest builder of green buildings, has relocated its Atlanta office to a green office building that has been recognized by the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as achieving LEED Gold certification. Turner’s Atlanta office is now located in Two Alliance Center, 3560 Lenox Road in Buckhead.

Turner’s office includes many green features that are expected to reduce energy and water use as well as provide improved indoor environmental quality for its employees and guests. Green features of Turner’s space include the use of regional and recycled materials, low-profile systems furniture for increased natural day-lighting throughout the space, the installation of Energy-Star appliances and the recycling of ninety percent of construction waste on the project.

In addition to its environmentally friendly office, Turner’s green building projects that are under construction or recently completed in the state of Georgia include the Georgia Institute of Technology’s G. Wayne Clough Undergraduate Learning Center (scheduled to achieve LEED Gold), the Cobb County Superior Court (scheduled to achieve LEED Silver), the Atlanta Public Safety Headquarters (LEED Silver certified), AECOM’s Atlanta office (LEED Silver certified), the Jones Lang LaSalle office build-out (LEED Silver certified) and the Emory University Conference Center Hotel (LEED Silver certified).

With 34 LEED Accredited Professionals (APs) working in Turner’s Atlanta office and more than 1,100 LEED APs nationally, the company is uniquely positioned to meet the Green building needs of its clients and the community in the Georgia market.

Turner has had a presence in Georgia since the early 1920s and officially opened its Atlanta office in 1976. Turner is one of the largest construction management firms in Georgia.

Additional Turner offices that are certified by the USGBC include the firm's Dallas, Maumee (OH), Seattle, Southern California, Kansas City, South Florida and Albany locations.

“Relocating to this sustainable office space further supports Turner's commitment to green building practices and the greening of our own operations for the benefit of our clients, employees and all who enter our new office space,” said Dave Butler, vice president and general manager of Turner’s Atlanta operations.
