In times of staff becoming increasingly reliant on equipment such as lap tops and mobile phones, a new high security locker offering an optional innovative charging facility for portable equipment has just been introduced to the market by the UK’s leading locker designer and manufacturer, Helmsman.
It is set to benefit all sectors that use lap tops, mobile phones, mobile communications equipment such as walkie talkies, portable navigation equipment, cameras – indeed anything that has to be charged. Doubtless a concept which will appeal to many, the locker offers exceptional strength, durability and high security.
When chosen with individual electric sockets, the lockers are ideal for storing and charging valuable electrical equipment, offering less ‘down time’ whilst batteries are charged and a solution to the increasing worry of theft. The lockers have undergone rigorous security testing at Helmsman, utilising all manner if items such as screwdrivers, knives, hammers and clamps to attempt to foil the tough construction.
Helmsman’s managing director Anne Rivett is extremely confident of the locker’s unique benefits: “This locker is just the right size for a lap top, its carrying bag and easily fits mobiles and other portable devices. When you consider its superior security and the optional charging unit, it’s a fantastic new product which we are very proud of. The peace of mind allows staff and employers to go about their business knowing that valuable assets and the data they hold are safe, and that the inconvenience of theft or battery failure is avoided.”
The lockers are designed to deter even the most determined of thieves.
“2mm thick steel, high quality locks, and optional swipe card access on each separate locker compartment, plus an optional steel security bar locked tight with a padlock, make this locker a very tough cookie,” concludes Anne. The lockers are available with either ten or fifteen compartments, or can be customised.
With the swipe card facility, the lockers can also be fully integrated into any organisation using a management system, and Helmsman currently works with partner organisations to enable this. When the swipe card is used, an LED light shows which compartment is in use.
