Energex Renews Construction and Maintenance Contract with Thiess Services

South East Queensland electricity provider Energex has renewed a contract with Thiess Services (a Leighton Group company) to provide network construction and maintenance works under a five year agreement valued at up to $100 million.

Energex’s Executive General Manager, Network Programming and Procurement, Peter Price, welcomed the extension of contracts with Thiess Services, which recognises the strong working relationship between the two organisations developed over recent years.

The contract includes provision of services for overhead and underground distribution assets in the North Brisbane and North Coast regions.

Thiess Managing Director David Saxelby said Thiess Services’ reputation in this field was unsurpassed and the contract win was recognition of our capability to deliver.

“I am delighted that Energex has provided us with the opportunity to build on our five year relationship,” he said.

“It reaffirms our reputation as a leading provider of construction and maintenance services in the electricity distribution sector.”

Thiess Services Executive General Manager Michael Wright said Energex would continue to derive increasing levels of value from this partnership.

“We are excited by the opportunity to continue providing the high standards of safety and service to Energex and their customers,” he said.
