LEED Project Details

  • Norcon, Inc.: McGuire Engineers provided energy modeling and enhanced commissioning services for this construction company's new headquarters, winning LEED Gold Status. McGuire's energy models determined the best building components, ultimately resulting in a 16 percent annual energy savings compared to the ASHRAE 90.1-2004 baseline building.
  • City of Oakbrook Terrace Public Services Facility: McGuire provided energy modeling and enhanced commissioning services for the construction for this facility which contains a garage, offices, locker rooms and other support spaces. McGuire's recommendations such as "in-slab" hot water radiant heating and a carbon monoxide collection/exhaust system achieved more than 22 percent annual energy savings when compared to the ASHRAE 90.1-2004 baseline building, achieving LEED Silver status.
  • Nixon Peabody: McGuire acted as the engineer and fundamental commissioning agent for this Commercial Interiors (CI) project of over 32,000 square feet of law firm office space. Daylight harvesting, advanced dimming controls, extensive HVAC zone control and increased ventilation exceed ASHRAE Standard 62.1 by more than 30 percent, resulting in LEED Gold status.
  • PepsiCo Sustainability Center: Rooftop wind turbines and photovoltaic panels provide an on-site renewable energy source to the PepsiCo Sustainability Center, located at PepsiCo's corporate headquarters in downtown Chicago. As the chief engineering firm of the project, McGuire helped the facility win LEED Platinum certification.
