Science Applications International  Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it was awarded a new prime contract by Boral Composites Inc. to design and build a composite building material manufacturing facility.

The contract is valued at more than $11 million, and the project is scheduled for completion in June of 2011. Work will be performed by SAIC's wholly-owned, design-build subsidiary, The Benham Companies LLC. Design work will be performed in Oklahoma City, Okla., with construction performed at the new facilities site in East Spencer, N.C.

Boral Bricks Inc is the largest manufacturer and distributor of clay brick in the United States. "Adopting new 'green' technologies such as this will help further the global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices," said J.T. Grumski, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Boral, and delivering a quality plant that will enable them to manufacture a line of exterior building products, using recycled and renewable materials."
